Equipment repairs

Swings, climbing frames, timbers, panels, ropes and fixings — repaired to standard, on any manufacturer's equipment, from any inspector's report.

A defect on a report is only useful once it's fixed. We put right what inspections find — ours or anybody else's — using compliant components and correct fixings, and we photograph the finished work so it goes into your records as evidence.

What we repair

  • Swing units — seats, chains, shackles, bearings and top beams
  • Climbing units and multi-play — timbers, decks, rails and steps
  • HDPE and HPL panels, roofs and infill
  • Ropes, nets and cableways — retension and replacement
  • Springers, roundabouts and moving parts — bearing and pivot work
  • Foundations, anchor points and loose or moving units
  • Gates, self-closers, fencing, seating and signage
  • Timber replacement, including ground-line rot on trim trails

We inspect and repair — so here is how we keep it straight

If the same firm finds the fault and fixes it, a fair question follows: who checks the finding? Our answer is that you hold the evidence and you keep the choice.

  • Every defect is photographed and risk-rated against the standard, so you can see the fault yourself
  • The report is yours — keep it, share it, get competing quotes against it
  • Repair quotes come separately, with no obligation
  • Your annual inspection isn't ours to do — we don't hold that grade, so it goes to an independent RPII Annual-grade inspector with no stake in our repair work
  • We quote against anyone's report, which cuts both ways: if another inspector found it, we will still fix it

How a repair works

  1. Restrict access If an item is unsafe, tape it off or remove the seat straight away. Tell us and we will advise immediately.
  2. Send photos or the report A couple of phone photos, or the inspection report you already hold. Either is enough for us to price most jobs.
  3. Written quote, no obligation Itemised against each finding, with a lead time. Use us or don't — the quote costs you nothing either way.
  4. Repair and photographic sign-off Work carried out to BS EN 1176, photographed on completion, and the record sent to you for your files.

Surfacing repairs too

Wetpour, resin-bound rubber and rubber mulch — the other half of most repair lists, and the part that quietly determines whether your fall protection still complies.

Need the inspection as well?

Routine and operational inspections on a standing round. The annual needs a grade we don't hold, so we arrange it with an independent inspector.

Questions

Frequently asked

Will you repair equipment you did not install?

Yes — we repair equipment from any manufacturer, including ranges that are long discontinued or whose maker has ceased trading. Where an original part is unavailable we fabricate or source a compliant equivalent.

Can you quote against another inspector’s report?

Yes, and we do it regularly. Send us the report — RoSPA, Play Inspection Company, whoever wrote it — and we will price the findings item by item. You do not need to have used us for the inspection.

What happens if something is dangerous right now?

Restrict access to the item immediately — tape it off or remove the seat. Send us photos and we will advise the same day, and where it is a genuine emergency we will get to site as fast as we can. Being Cornwall-based means that is measured in hours, not next week.

Do repairs affect our compliance?

Repairs are carried out to keep equipment compliant with BS EN 1176, using compliant components and correct fixings. We photograph the completed work so you have a record for your files and for your next inspection.
